This interactive workshop focuses on personal branding to strengthen your self-pitching abilities, whether that means getting an agent to rep your writing or getting a random stranger to buy a copy of your latest book. We’ll work on a series of fun, sometimes humorous, self-building exercises like describing your latest project to someone in the film industry, or explaining the status of your publishing career to relatives at holiday meals. The ultimate goal of this pre-conference workshop is to encourage authors to see themselves as a business and a brand — and take themselves seriously enough that they can influence others to want to invest in some aspect of their career.
