We are corporeal beings, yet our bodies are often a source of conflict and mystification, i.e., body image or gender dysphoria; disabilities that clash with “norms;” changes wrought by illness or aging. We lie to our bodies and our bodies lie to us. Often, though, storytellers of all levels remain in the realm of the mind, as if only our brains have a voice. Skewed thinking keeps us from accessing stories that could heal us. In this session, we will discuss how to write about the body and to get in touch with the stories contained in our physical being.
